DECORATION DAYS
WEDNESDAY 15TH APRIL TO FRIDAY MORNING 17TH APRIL 2026
Always wanted to see how a float is decorated? Decoration takes place over three days in a large local hall where you can see hundreds of volunteers decorating the floats with fragrant, colourful, spring bulb flowers including hyacinths, daffodils and tulips.
The flowers are pinned to the floats via a special technique called 'staking'. If you are lucky you may get the opportunity to try for yourself. How exciting to actually see your own handiwork passing by on the parade.
Interested in visiting the Decoration Days? Buy a ticket on the door, or buy one in advance here via the website.

CATERING, MUSIC AND DUTCH DELIGHTS
During the Decoration Days the hall is a hive of activity. In the coffee corner you can enjoy coffee/tea and cakes or a drink and snack while the decorators are busy at work. There is also an open stage where local singers, choirs and bands perform for the decorators and the public. All this takes place in and around a modern flower bulb company encirled by the fragrance and beauty of spring bulb flowers.
LIVE STAGE
During the construction days there is a live stage where you can enjoy a variety of spectacular performances from a varying selection of artists.
DISCOVER THE EDUCATION AREA
In the education area our volunteers bring the magic of Bloemencorso Bollenstreek to life for both young and old. For (school) children we have designed a special interactive programme.
- Workshop ''Decorating a Heart": Learn the technique of pinning the flowers to the floats and use the materials and flowers available to decorate a heart to take home.
- You are the judges: On entry to the hall, each child will receive a token to give to the float which they like the most. The winning float receives the prestigeous ''Childrens Prize".
- Treasure Hunt and Bingo: Discover the secrets behind the floats with an engaging treasure hunt or take part in the colourful Bloom Bingo.
- Creativity: Let your imagination run wild by colouring in a unique Bloemencorso Bollenstreek drawing.
Whether you come to be marvelled, or to roll up your sleeves yourself, in the Education Area you will experience craftsmanship up close. Come along and experience it for yourself!
