Eurokoor Nederland founded in 1997 is one of the most well-known choirs in Leiden. We have our own band the EuroPacemakers and our repertoire is mainly made up of six-part harmonised pop songs arranged by our own conductor.Our conductor leads the sessions during our weekly choir practice evenings toegether with a pianist and once a month we reherse with the band. We follow this with a drinks, snacks and good chats!

The name Eurokoor refers to the original dream to trave throughout Europe meeting up wiht other choirs, ultimately performing on the steps of the European Parliament with singers from each country of the European Union. While we never (yet) fully realised the dream, we have travelled aboard and hope to make more exciting trips. Singing together brings down borders.

Since its initiation, we are fortunate to have our access to our own band. Performing with live music is simply the best! Our band is composed of professional ((freelance) musicians who regularly rehearese with the choir.

The band generally accompanies us during a full concert but sometimes we sing with a keyboard. This is the case for our performance during the Decoration Days as there is insufficient time to arrange the build-up of the intruments. We are of course delighted to take part, also due to the fact that many of our members are part of one of the decoration teams are help pin the flowers onto the floats.
