Flowering Robots

Al sinds zijn geboorte is Lucas Terra, betrokken bij het corso. Zijn vader, Koen, maakt veel van de technisch tekeningen voor de corsowagens en zijn moeder, Caroline, is al bijna 20 jaar betrokken bij het steken van de wagen van de Corsogroep KAVB Hillegom Haarlem e.o.

When a design was required for the float which is financed by crowd funding, Koen asked Lucas what he would like to see as a design if he was in charge. Without hesitation Lucas replied, “A robot with flowers!

The committee concluded that this was a fantastic idea. It visualises the connection between engineering and flowers while Lucas is a good representative of the target audience which comes to view the parade.

Koen proceeded to make a few sketches and let Lucas choose one

According to Lucas the final design would have been complete with three robots, but he is bursting with pride that a float based on his ideas is in the parade. He can’t wait to see it drive past!
