BEHIND THE SCENES
WEDNESDAY 20TH APRIL TO FRIDAY MORNING 22ND APRIL 2022
Always wanted to see how a float is made? Construction takes place over three days in a large local hall where you can see hundreds of volunteers decorating the floats with fragrant, colourful, spring bulb flowers including hyacinths, daffodils and tulips.
The flowers are pinned to the floats via a special technique called 'staking'. If you are lucky you may get the opportunity to try for yourself. How exciting to actually see your own handiwork passing by on the parade.

ENTERTAINMENT AND DUTCH DELIGHTS
Enjoy the fun behind the scenes! Refreshments are served while you enjoy the various events including the famous ''First Stake"' by local dignitaries and the live stage with various musical acts. You may even be interviewed on radio or television! Stalls with traditional Dutch delicacies complete the experience.
Free parking is available in the area around Tennis Hall de Klinkenberg. Use your GPS and then follow the traffic wardens' instructions on arrival. Limited invalid parking is available next to the Hall.
On Friday evening 22nd April you can view the parade in a different light. At 9 p.m. we illuminate the floats with thousands of lamps as they drive through the charming village of Noordwijkerhout. An experience not to be missed.
EXHIBITION OF THE FLOATS
On Sunday 24th April, the floats are on show one last time in the historical floral city of Haarlem. Use the opportunity to take perfect pictures surrounded by music and entertainment while enjoying a drink at one of the cafes. At 5 p.m. we wave the floats a final farewell.
